About The Position

The Senior Maintenance Manager leads the execution of maintenance activities supporting all Canadian Programs across all Canadian bases and deployed environments. Reporting to the Sr DOM– Canada, this role ensures safe, compliant, and reliable aircraft availability to meet operational demands, through effective coordination of maintenance planning, manpower, and operational execution. The Senior Maintenance Manager ensures that all Canadian Program maintenance activities are executed in accordance with the Top Aces Maintenance Policy Manual (MPM) and Maintenance Control Manual (MCM), and are planned, performed and reported in accordance with Airworthiness and regulatory obligations. The position works closely with Operations, Maintenance Control Center (MCC), Supply Chain, Fleet Management and PRM/Quality to deliver sustained fleet readiness in a dynamic, high‑tempo operating environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience with aircraft maintenance overseeing both line and heavy maintenance execution (military or civil)
  • Minimum seven (7) years of leadership experience in a similar role
  • Strong leadership skills in a dynamic high tempo environment
  • Strong communicator who disseminates and obtains information with discretion professionalism and diplomacy.
  • Knowledge of airworthiness regulations (Transport Canada and DND), Quality Systems, and compliance requirements including Controlled Goods, security management, and ITAR, within military and civilian maintenance environments.
  • General knowledge of business operations, local legislation, financial statements, and budgeting.
  • Good Customer Service Skills
  • Fluent in English.
  • Computer Literate
  • Position requires Controlled Goods Clearance and Level 2 Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the maintenance organization and supporting functions, fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide functional oversight of Base Leads and deployed maintenance personnel.
  • Accountable for ensuring the maintenance execution aligns with the flying operation schedule.
  • Manage the execution of the Fleet Management Plan (FMP) for the 0-18 month timeframe.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure availability of necessary resources and fleet readiness.
  • Collaborate with MCC on manpower planning, maintenance scheduling, and qualification coverage.
  • Ensure training requirements are met to maintain regulatory and operational readiness.
  • Ensure deployed maintenance teams are properly staffed, qualified, and equipped.
  • Provide clear operational updates and issue resolution recommendations to the Sr DOM.
  • Promote a strong safety culture, operational discipline, and professional standards across the maintenance organization.
  • Liaise with the PRM to ensure compliance and to maintain good standing of the AMO with Transport Canada and the Canadian Department of National Defense.
  • Execute maintenance responsibilities delegated by the Person Responsible for Maintenance (PRM).
  • Identify, escalate, and support resolution of airworthiness, safety, or compliance concerns.
  • Support reliability monitoring and corrective actions for recurring maintenance issues.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to direct reports in all aspects of their roles.
  • Monitor workforce needs and ensure appropriate staffing throughout the maintenance organization.
  • Manage financial and operational resources as assigned.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports, annual performance reviews, and manage other employee relations matters as required.
  • Work with other departments and leadership on company-wide initiatives.
  • Support policy development, organizational strategy, and key business decisions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Sr DOM.
  • Working in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety acts and regulations.
  • Following safe work practices and procedures and using safeguards and personal protective equipment.
  • Reporting hazards (such as unsafe situations and activities) to their supervisor immediately.
