About The Position
The Senior Mainframe Operations role provides advanced operational support, technical guidance, and mentorship to Junior Resources. Senior Resources are responsible for stability, incident leadership, and operational excellence within the mainframe environment. The role supports 24x7 production operations and follows established procedures to detect, escalate, and resolve system issues in accordance with operational and security standards.
Requirements
- 4–5 years of experience supporting mainframe production operations
- Proven ability to ensure system stability, availability, and compliance with operational and security standards
- Demonstrated leadership during high‑severity incidents, including coordination, escalation, and resolution
- Experience mentoring junior resources and providing technical guidance to support team effectiveness
- Strong focus on operational excellence, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement of support processes

Responsibilities
- Lead monitoring and control of mainframe production environments.
- Perform advanced operational tasks, including complex job recovery, system coordination, and troubleshooting.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for incidents, outages, and operational exceptions.
- Guide, coach, and mentor Junior Mainframe Operations Resources during training and on the job activities.
- Coordinate with system programmers, application teams, and infrastructure teams during incidents and changes.
- Support change management, releases, maintenance windows, and disaster recovery activities.
- Review and improve runbooks, procedures, and operational documentation.
