About The Position

PMG Vegetation Control is hiring an experienced Livestock Fencer for a weather-dependent fencing project in Casper, Wyoming. This position involves barbed-wire and livestock fence installation, skid-steer and auger operation, trailer pulling, and physically demanding outdoor field work. This is a great fit for a highly experienced fencer who can work independently, operate equipment safely, tow trailers, and complete assigned work without constant supervision. This is not an entry-level position. Applicants must have substantial experience with livestock fencing, heavy-equipment operation, and trailer pulling.

Requirements

  • At least five years of barbed-wire and livestock fence installation experience.
  • At least five years of experience pulling trailers with heavy equipment.
  • At least five years of skid-steer operating experience.
  • At least five years of experience using skid-steer-mounted auger attachments.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and complete physically demanding outdoor work.
  • Strong understanding of fence-post placement, bracing, wire installation, and tensioning.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and safety-conscious.

Nice To Haves

  • Agricultural, ranch, or livestock fencing experience.
  • Experience hauling and transporting heavy equipment.
  • Basic equipment and trailer maintenance experience.
  • Experience working around livestock.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain barbed-wire and livestock fencing.
  • Operate a skid steer with an auger attachment.
  • Pull trailers carrying skid steers, augers, fencing materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Measure fence lines and maintain proper post spacing and alignment.
  • Install posts, braces, gates, wire, and related fencing components.
  • Stretch and properly tension barbed wire.
  • Inspect completed fencing to ensure it is secure and properly installed.
  • Perform routine skid-steer, trailer, and equipment inspections.
  • Communicate project progress, equipment needs, and safety concerns.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Work safely around livestock, uneven terrain, heavy equipment, and changing weather conditions.
