Senior Livestock Bookkeeper

About The Position

Responsible for accurately paying and accounting for funds disbursed for livestock and freight. The role assists livestock buyers by supplying information about contracts and provides customer service to producers with questions about payments or address changes. The position enters livestock and producer information into HogPro, maintains contracts and records, and writes checks for livestock and freight. It also supports hog buyers and grade/yield clerks.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Two years of relevant experience.
Basic accounting skills.
Advanced knowledge of HogPro.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel and Word.
Ability to operate basic office equipment, including fax machines, copiers, computers, multi-line telephone systems, and postage machines.
Strong written and verbal customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Ability to be respectful, approachable, and team-oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

Enter livestock head count and weight, freight adjustments, producer information, and livestock contracts into HogPro.
Write checks for livestock and freight.
Provide customer service and support to hog buyers and grade/yield clerks.
Assist producers with questions about payments and address changes.
Supply livestock buyers with information pertaining to contracts.
Maintain and file daily and monthly records.
Perform other duties as assigned.
