About The Position

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Linux Systems Administrator to join our team! This role involves supporting the system administration for ARL high performance computers, supporting the design of Army Research Laboratory A2I2 building for systems being delivered in 2024 and future platforms, and advising in architectural tradeoffs including NVidia Grace/Hopper, ARM, AMD, and new file systems. The position also includes identifying open-source software tools and stacks for customer-specific and production platforms, developing and implementing software instrumentation to measure and visualize the performance of various systems, sub-systems, and user jobs, and serving as a subject matter expert to the HPC program system administration team for research, development, and production HPC systems. This position is part of our Federal Solutions team, delivering resources to US government customers to ensure mission success globally. Requirements

  • Extensive background in diverse Linux operating systems and high performance computing
  • Extensive background in Linux tools, performance tuning, instrumentation
  • Open-source software tools, software stacks, and standards
  • Ability to work with a team of system administrators across a wide range of platforms and requirements
  • BS or MS degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent experience
  • At least 8 years of directly related experience
  • Linux+ certification (or equivalent)
  • Security+ certification (or equivalent)
  • Top Secret clearance

  • Ability to sustain and support aging HPC systems
  • Ability to integrate new capabilities into existing HPC systems
  • Ability to standardize software stacks to reduce complexity and cost of support
