About The Position

The Senior Liaison Engineer is responsible for providing engineering and technical support for airframe and system related problems, design deviations encountered during aircraft maintenance checks, and STC modification of transport category aircraft. This role involves working closely with designers, stress engineers, and Designated Engineering Representatives, as well as coordinating with lead technicians, supervisors, and quality assurance to resolve engineering issues while ensuring quality, compliance, and aircraft safety. The engineer will produce detailed and accurate EO engineering instructions/repairs and sketches through AEI’s EO system. Responsibilities include researching and reviewing engineering data such as drawings and manuals to determine the most effective repair or alteration methods, investigating Airworthiness Directives (ADs) for their impact on repairs or deviations, and consulting OEM manuals for structural identification and allowable limits. Additionally, the role requires researching MMPDS for material strength and performing comprehensive checks of EOs and supporting data prepared by staff engineers. The position also involves travel to various unanticipated locations throughout the US and internationally, approximately 10% of the time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering or related, Mechanical Engineering or scientific field.
  • 5 years of experience in occupations involving Liaison engineering duties or related.
  • Ability to climb in & around transport category aircraft.
  • Ability to work on aircraft in external periods (hot/cold weather).
  • Experience and knowledge in AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of Aircraft industry programs: Aging Aircraft Safety Rule, Corrosion Prevention & Control (CPCP), Supplemental Structural Inspection Doc (SSID), Repair Assessment Program (RAP) for multi fleet types & models.
  • Knowledge of Metallic Materials Properties Development & Standards (MMPDS).
  • Knowledge of Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) process.
