The Department of Student Development (SD) in the College of Education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst is seeking a qualified candidate to join a dedicated and accomplished community of faculty, students, and staff as the Clinical Educator in School Psychology. This is a full-time, non-tenure track position beginning in September 2026. The School Psychology Program offers comprehensive training that leads to Educational Specialist (Ed.S.) and Doctoral (Ph.D.) degrees, which are NASP-and APA-accredited. We share a fundamental commitment to social justice and the pursuit of educational excellence. Located in the beautiful Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts, the University of Massachusetts Amherst is the flagship campus of the Commonwealth’s university system and is a leading center of public higher education in the Northeast. This non-tenure track position will involve organizing, supervising and mentoring students through the sequential clinical experiences required for licensure in school psychology. The UMass Amherst School Psychology program seeks a candidate with a strong research-practitioner orientation who is motivated to collaborate with colleagues across the department, the College of Education, and in schools in the nearby community to improve the field of school psychology in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The new faculty member will have at least three years of clinical experience working as a certified School Psychologist in Massachusetts, have their state certification in School Psychology and be in good standing with professional status. Ideal candidates will approach their clinical work from an eco-behavioral framework and solution-focused practice. The faculty member will be responsible for courses and seminars that focus on supervision of practica and internship experiences. Courses will include the sequential assessment sequence of our program of study, including Cognitive Assessment, Educational Assessment, and Behavioral and Social Emotional Assessment. Successful applicants will also have skills to teach courses related to solution-focused consultation across the domains of professional practice. The Clinical Educator will take a leadership role in developing and supervising clinical field experiences for graduate students in School Psychology, teach courses that support clinical skill development in the School Psychology, advise and direct Ed.S. students specializing in School Psychology, and support administrative tasks of data collection, management and reporting for purposes of maintaining program accreditation, and provide service to the School Psychology profession and the University of Massachusetts’s College of Education.
