About The Position

The Department of Chemical Engineering in the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering (HWCOE) at the University of Florida is seeking applications for a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Master Lecturer (working title Assistant/Associate/Full Instructional Professor) in Chemical Engineering. The department is looking for candidates passionate about teaching, mentoring, and preparing students for professional success in Chemical Engineering. The department offers an ABET-accredited undergraduate degree program and emphasizes instruction that connects engineering fundamentals with modern industrial practice, professional problem solving, and workplace readiness. The department's primary facilities are undergoing significant renovation and modernization, indicating continued investment in instructional spaces, laboratories, and the program's future. The department welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds, including recent Ph.D. graduates interested in instructional careers and experienced industry professionals looking to transition into higher education. Requirements

  • PhD in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field

Responsibilities

  • Teaching required and/or elective undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Chemical Engineering
  • Developing instructional materials and course content
  • Mentoring and advising students
  • Participating in curriculum development and assessment activities
  • Collaborating with faculty and staff to strengthen the undergraduate and master’s educational experience
