About The Position

The Department of Educational Psychology at the University of North Texas (UNT) invites applications for an appointment at the Senior Lecturer rank to begin Fall 2027. This position is for an applicant with expertise in Special Education. The successful candidate will contribute to the department's continued development and success by supporting the special education program through teaching, collaboration, and student mentoring. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in traditional and online formats, and potentially at satellite locations. The candidate will also be expected to have excellent teaching skills, assist with program development and expansion, and serve on departmental and college committees and other relevant service activities.

Requirements

  • Earned doctorate in Special Education.
  • Doctorates in a closely related field will be considered as long as the clear purpose of the degree is special education.
  • ABD candidates will be considered as long as the doctorate is successfully defended prior to the start date.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.

Nice To Haves

  • Record of high-quality teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate special education courses certified by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
  • TEA SPED certified candidates.
  • Experience with HSI/MSIs.
  • Candidates who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, American Sign Language, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin and other variations), Arabic, Tagalog, Farsi, French, or/and Yoruba.

Responsibilities
