About The Position

The Department of Educational Psychology in the College of Education at the University of North Texas (UNT) is seeking to fill a Senior Lecturer position in Special Education, starting Fall 2027. This role involves contributing to the department's development and success by supporting the special education program through teaching, collaboration, and student mentoring. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in various formats, including traditional, online, and potentially at satellite locations. Key responsibilities include excellent teaching, program development and expansion, and service on departmental and college committees.

Requirements

  • Earned doctorate in Special Education. Doctorates in a closely related field will be considered as long as the clear purpose of the degree is special education.
  • ABD candidates will be considered as long as the doctorate is successfully defended prior to the start date.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.

Nice To Haves

  • A record of high-quality teaching excellence at the undergraduate level and graduate level.
  • Experience teaching undergraduate special education courses certified by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
  • TEA SPED certified candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in traditional and online formats and potentially at satellite locations.

  • Serving on committees and other relevant service activities within the department and college.
