About The Position

The Senior Lease Analyst conducts research and technical reviews of leases and supporting documents to determine compliance with lease provisions, unit agreements, administrative code rules, and statutes. The Lease Analyst is to work and maintain current understanding of laws and regulations affecting Formentera’s assets in all jurisdictions. The Lease Analyst will be responsible for organizing and managing the Company’s land system and lease records as well as analyzing and interpreting title documents to establish ownership for producing and non-producing mineral properties. Will perform and oversee communicating with Working Interest Partners and Royalty Owners, through the review of pertinent Land Documents, and our goal is to respond to inquiries in a timely, efficient manner. The Lease Analyst will play a central role in managing a growing portfolio of Leases and Contract Agreements within the Land Department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in land management, energy management, business administration, data science, or a related field of study.
  • 5+ years of experience in a land administration, management, or analyst role with emphasis on oil, gas, or mineral leasing and contracts.
  • Detail-oriented and organized with strong verbal/written communications skills.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with applications such as: ODL (On Demand Land - Quorum), GIS, On-Demand Accounting (ODA – Quorum), Enervus, EnergyLink, and OpenInvoice.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Utilize patience and good communication skills to ascertain the root causes of issues as they arise, obtain needed information and/or documents to resolve issues, and provide accurate resolution feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Perform administrative and land-related tasks for daily operations and acquisitions.
  • Interpret Mineral Deeds, Oil & Gas Leases, Joint Operating Agreements, Farmout Agreements, Exploration Agreements, Purchase and Sale Agreements, Surface Use Agreements, and Right of Way Agreements.
  • Analyze property conveyance documents related to land, minerals, and well ownership.
  • Review and confirm ownership using mineral ownership reports, Title Opinions, and WI/NRI calculations.
  • Set up and maintain oil and gas leases, pooled units, and legal documents in LandView (‘Land System’).
  • Analyze payment and obligation provisions, including minimum royalties, lease extensions, delay rentals, water use, shut-in, and surface damage payments.
  • Maintain company ownership records, ensuring data integrity in the Land System.
  • Generate land reports related to ownership, acreage, provisions, and well cross-references.
  • Input ownership information into On-Demand Accounting (ODA – Quorum).
  • Effectively communicate contractual obligations to development teams.
  • Identify and resolve potential title issues with multiple departments.
  • Support title interpretation, mineral leasing, and contract research.
  • Ensure compliance with agreement obligations, rental payments, and critical deadlines.
  • Work closely with Land, Accounting, and Technical Operations teams.
  • Support Working Interest Partners and Royalty Owners, ensuring positive relationships.
  • Assist in ownership deck creation and process ownership changes with the Accounting Department.
  • Prepare and transmit AFE authorizations for wells, workovers, completions, and lease acquisitions.
  • Support Land staff with day-to-day duties and acquisition-related tasks.
