About The Position

As a Senior Lean Operations Manager, you will lead enterprise-wide continuous improvement initiatives and embed Lean principles across IDEXX through the IDEXX Excellence System. This role is responsible for managing a team of Lean leaders while partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to drive process optimization, improve productivity, and deliver measurable operational results. You will play a key role in shaping and advancing a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging data, Lean methodologies, and strong leadership to enhance efficiency and customer experience across a global organization. This role is critical to ensuring IDEXX operates efficiently and consistently at scale. By driving Lean transformation and empowering teams, you directly impact productivity, quality, and operational performance—enabling IDEXX to deliver innovative solutions reliably to customers worldwide.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or related field required
  • 7+ years of leadership experience with strong people management capabilities
  • Proven expertise in Lean methodologies and operating system deployment
  • Demonstrated success implementing Lean principles and delivering measurable results
  • Experience with value stream mapping, process improvement, and KPI management
  • Strong project management and change management skills
  • Experience with ERP systems and process mapping tools
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and sustain Lean transformation strategies aligned with the IDEXX Excellence System.
  • Conduct value stream mapping to identify inefficiencies and drive process improvements.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to measure the success of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with leadership to prioritize opportunities and allocate resources effectively.
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of Lean leaders, including managers and supervisors.
  • Manage escalated and critical issues and drive resolution across operations.
  • Coach and develop employees, supporting performance management and growth.
  • Contribute to organizational strategy and Operational Excellence direction.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to deliver improvement initiatives.
  • Leverage data, metrics, and system tools to improve efficiency and customer experience.
  • Identify risks, challenges, and opportunities and proactively implement solutions.
  • Prepare reports, analyses, and presentations for senior leadership.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
