About The Position

Mortenson is currently seeking a Senior Manager of Lean that will be responsible for creating a culture of inclusion and continuous improvement by developing and supporting effective execution of Flow Construction and Kaizen approaches across various business environments. Accepted Locations: US requiring National Travel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Construction Management, Industrial Engineering or a related degree OR Equivalent combination of education and technical/field experience demonstrated over multiple years of related work experience
  • Minimum of fifteen years construction or manufacturing experience
  • Minimum of ten years experience in a continuous improvement or other operational functional role (e.g. Quality, Safety, Planning, Process Excellence)
  • Experience facilitating lean activities (Kaizen Events, Improvement Initiatives, Takt Planning)
  • Expert understanding of continuous improvement tools and practices (Kaizen, Lean, Takt Planning)
  • Humble learner with curiosity and optimism
  • Proactive self-starter with growth mindset
  • Excellent reliability and follow-through
  • Strong ability to coach and mentor leaders and professionals
  • Ability to travel up to 50% within the continental U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Establish company-wide standards for the Lean approach (Flow Construction or Kaizen)
  • Maintain consistency and effectiveness of the approach by assessing and improving
  • Develop and coach HQ Lean and Group resources to support and execute the approach effectively
  • Engage Group Leaders and other Group resources, personally and through direct reports, to plan and execute the Lean approach effectively
  • Support Groups to measure, capture, and sustain improvements, celebrate teams, and update baseline performance for future work expectations
  • Provide significant input to the annual business plan for the Lean approach, including enhancements and guidance on strategy for different levels of support and activity across Groups and projects
