About The Position

Google is seeking a strategic people leader to guide Search Security Technical Program Management in a high-velocity environment and build scalable security programs. The role supports a team responsible for cross-organizational engineering programs that address ambitious technical challenges. It requires navigating ambiguity, driving execution, partnering with senior leadership in Search and other product areas, identifying and mitigating security risks, optimizing programs to meet product and platform goals, and ensuring robust governance across the Search ecosystem. Google Technical Program Managers lead complex, multidisciplinary engineering projects using technical expertise. They plan requirements with internal customers and guide projects through their lifecycle, including managing schedules, identifying risks, and communicating clearly with stakeholders. The role involves presenting analyses and recommendations to executives and discussing technical trade-offs with engineers. Google Search is evolving into a layered AI system, including AI Overviews and AI agents. The Search team works to address complex engineering challenges and expand infrastructure while maintaining a universally accessible and useful experience for people around the world.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
10 years of experience in program management.
7 years of experience in leadership roles, with or without direct reports.

Experience interacting with technical and non-technical audiences across functions and organizational levels.

Responsibilities

Manage, mentor, and support the existing team of Search Security Technical Program Managers.
Oversee critical security efforts for Search, drive clarity and strategic decisions with cross-functional stakeholders, and provide clear communication and visibility to leadership.
Partner with Engineering and Product leadership to define, shape, and evolve the long-term Search Security strategy and roadmap.
Apply technical, business, and program management expertise to identify, assess, track, and mitigate security risks across Search products and infrastructure.
Build and maintain strategic partnerships with Legal, Trust and Safety, Data Protection and Risk, Engineering, and Product Management teams to drive alignment and deliver impactful changes.
