About The Position

Optiveum is recruiting and contracting for a Senior/Lead Java Engineer to work on a project for one of the world's leading global investment banks, delivered with a large international IT services company. The engineer will build Java and Spring Boot microservices deployed with Docker and Kubernetes on Azure. This is a full-time hybrid role based in Kraków, with three days per week at the client's office; candidates must live in or near Kraków. The stated B2B rate is 135–160 PLN per hour for around 10 years of experience, with individual negotiation for candidates with significantly more experience. The recruitment process consists of one interview with the IT services partner, followed by one to three interviews with the bank. Technical tasks are completed live, and candidates should have a programming environment set up and tested beforehand. AI tools, coding assistants, and code generators are not allowed during interviews. The selected candidate will undergo an external HireRight background check covering identity, right to work, education, and employment history. Application and CV names must exactly match the candidate's official ID; Polish citizens should include all first names. Candidates who participated in a recruitment process for the IT services partner or bank in the last 12 months cannot be considered.

Requirements

10–15+ years of experience with Java.
Strong experience with Core Java and Spring Boot.
Experience with microservices.
Knowledge of PostgreSQL or Oracle databases.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with Azure.
Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments.
Fluent English.
Polish or EU citizenship, or a permanent residence/work permit valid for at least 12 months.
