About The Position

Man Group is hiring a Senior Java Engineer for its Man Numeric OMT team, a small team within Markets Platform Engineering. The Order Management System sits between Numeric strategies and Man’s central execution systems, placing the team at the core of the investment process and providing interaction with many parts of the firm. The engineer will build and maintain the Order Management System supporting Numeric’s systematic investment process. The role offers exposure to cash equities, equity swaps, and futures across listed and OTC markets, as well as an opportunity to understand how investment signals become trading decisions throughout the trading lifecycle. Support coverage is required, and advancement opportunities within Man Front Office Technology are available. Systems run on Linux via containers. Most are built with Java, with some Python, and the platform includes a Tomcat web application and microservices using Micronaut and other Python services. It uses event sourcing to propagate state events across service domains. The technology toolkit includes Git, Jenkins, IntelliJ with GitHub Copilot, Grafana, Prometheus, Docker, Slack, Confluence, and Jira; the firm continually evaluates new tools and libraries.
