Senior Laboratory Assistant
About The Position

Histology is a patient centered department with great co-workers. There are flexible hours and the ability to grow in the department. Aids in preparing laboratory specimens and supplies. May be responsible for entering laboratory orders and results. Ensures the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe and professional work environment. Expected to train and onboard new employees.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) required
- National phlebotomy certification through American Medical Technologists (AMT) or American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) is required or registry eligible to take exam within 12 months of hire
- May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Nice To Haves
- One year of laboratory related experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Phlebotomy
- Collecting, preparing and processing biological specimens
- Assisting in performing laboratory activities and other assigned tasks
- Preparing laboratory specimens and supplies
- Entering laboratory orders and results
- Ensuring the accuracy and quality of laboratory data in a safe and professional work environment
- Training and onboarding new employees
