Senior Lab Testing Clerk - Referrals
About The Position
Labcorp is seeking a Senior Reference Test Clerk to join our team in Raritan, NJ. This role acts as a liaison between reference testing labs, clients, and patients, resolving customer requests through various communication channels. The position involves working in multiple databases, providing customer education, reviewing test forms for accuracy, transcribing reports, and utilizing logistics providers for shipping. Additionally, the role includes preparing and triaging specimens for analysis, accurately identifying and labeling them, and preparing and storing excess samples.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Comfortability with handling biological specimens
- Ability to accurately identify specimens
- Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
- Ability to work in a fast paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
Nice To Haves
- 3 months or more of specimen processing experience
- 3 months or more of medical or laboratory experience
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
Responsibilities
- Act a liaison between the reference testing labs, clients, and patients
- Resolve internal & external Customer requests via calls, instant messenger & email communications
- Communicates with customers in respectful and professional manner
- Work in multiple databases to research complex issues and questions
- Provide customer education and information as needed
- Review test forms for accuracy and report any discrepancies
- Transcribe reports from reference labs into Labcorp systems
- Utilize various logistics providers to ship to multiple locations around the country.
- Prepare & triage specimens for analysis
- Accurately identify and label specimens
- Prepare and store excess specimen samples.
