About The Position

This position is responsible for various day-to-day tasks in the laboratory including working with avian blood or other tissues, poultry house and hatchery environmental samples including fecal, feathers, and dust. Essential duties and responsibilities include: Demonstrated proficiency in sample preparation, log in, processing, and documentation of test results; ability to assist with the training of other team members; ability to evaluate a situation quickly and react accordingly; proactive communication with peers, supervisors, and customers; demonstrated ability to complete projects aimed to improve the laboratory.

Requirements

Bachelors Degree in Science or two years technical training in a laboratory-related position
2 plus years of related experience
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office and other web-based programs
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Must use safe lifting techniques
While performing the duties of this job the team member is regularly required to stand walk sit use hands to handle objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms balance stoop; talk hear and visually inspect results
The team member must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds
While handling samples nitrile gloves must be worn
The team member may be exposed to standard laboratory chemicals
Must sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds)
