Senior Lab Microbiologist- North Richland Hills, Texas
About The Position
This position is responsible for various day-to-day tasks in the laboratory including working with avian blood or other tissues poultry house and hatchery environmental samples including fecal feathers and dust. Essential duties and responsibilities include: Demonstrated proficiency in sample preparation log in processing and documentation of test results; ability to assist with the training of other team members; ability to evaluate a situation quickly and react accordingly; proactive communication with peers supervisors and customers; demonstrated ability to complete projects aimed to improve the laboratory.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Science or two years technical training in a laboratory-related position
- 2 plus years of related experience
- Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office and other web-based programs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must use safe lifting techniques
- While performing the duties of this job the team member is regularly required to stand walk sit use hands to handle objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms balance stoop; talk hear and visually inspect results
- The team member must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds
- While handling samples nitrile gloves must be worn
- The team member may be exposed to standard laboratory chemicals
- Must sign an agreement to avoid any avian species chickens ducks birds

- Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
