About The Position

Omnissa’s Horizon Cloud Services Next Gen team is seeking an experienced Staff Engineer to help architect and evolve its next-generation cloud-native VDI/DaaS platform. The role is an architect for one or more platform subsystems, defining the technical vision for the assigned area and considering the effects of design decisions on the broader product. Designs should incorporate security, performance, testability, and operability. The Staff Engineer will own architecturally significant problems and lead complex, cross-team features from requirements through production. The role includes establishing technical standards, mentoring engineers, partnering with product management and other engineering teams to develop a technical roadmap, and using AI expertise to improve productivity and develop solutions. The team is globally distributed across the US and India. Work includes designing and developing cloud service components for Horizon Cloud Services using open service platforms and technologies from Azure and AWS; building scalable, resilient, maintainable, and secure architecture and microservices; analyzing requirements; writing and reviewing research and design documents; guiding teams through complex features, bugs, and customer issues; and participating in technical and organizational activities. The position works in an agile development environment and collaborates with staff engineers, architects, product management, stakeholders, and integration teams. The role is based in Mountain View, California, with a hybrid work arrangement and no travel expected. The typical base salary is USD $180,000–$250,000 per year, with possible eligibility for a corporate bonus program. Omnissa also lists employee ownership, health insurance, 401(k) matching contributions, disability insurance, paid time off, and growth opportunities among its benefits. The position is not eligible for employment-based immigration sponsorship.
