Senior Java Developer with Kafka
About The Position
For our client, a leading company in the insurance industry, we are looking for an experienced Senior Java Developer. You will join a strategic transformation program at the intersection of business and technology. We are building a modern ecosystem for claims and benefits processing from scratch, based on data, automation, AI, and workflow processes. Our common goal is to build a solution that will set new standards for customer service in the Polish insurance market. The project involves experts from many specializations – it is a unique opportunity to work on a project of key importance for the organization, having a real impact on the future and digitalization of the entire industry.
Requirements
- Min. 5 years of commercial experience in Java programming.
- Min. 5 years of experience with Spring/Hibernate, Spring Boot, and Spring Cloud.
- Min. 5 years of experience with relational databases and SQL.
- Min. 3 years of experience working with Apache Kafka.
- Knowledge of quality assurance concepts (unit test frameworks: JUnit, TestNG, Spock; and integration test frameworks: Testcontainers, WireMock).
- Knowledge of Functional Programming and Object-Oriented Programming paradigms.
- Practical knowledge of application containerization.
- Knowledge of process engines and BPMN notation.
- Knowledge of patterns and mechanisms for ensuring service resilience in distributed systems.
- Knowledge of the Angular framework and experience in creating frontend applications.
- Ability to adopt AI tools in the software development process and application performance diagnostics.
- Fluent knowledge of Polish and advanced knowledge of English.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and experience in applying this approach in practice.
- Experience in using AI agents and Agentic AI tools in the software development process.
- Practical experience with cloud solutions.
Responsibilities
- Designing, developing, and maintaining solutions supporting business processes in a microservices architecture.
- Creating and integrating applications based on Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and Angular or/and React, ensuring high quality, performance, and system resilience.
- Collaborating with architects, analysts, and business owners on the implementation of BPMN processes.
- Actively utilizing AI tools supporting the software development process.
