About The Position

Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a Senior IT Technical Systems Analyst to join our Information Technology (IT) team. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. Our work plays a critical role in communities we serve across Idaho and Oregon, and we’re working hard to provide our customers with safe, reliable, affordable energy they depend on. With minimal supervision, they work on domain specific solution(s)/application(s) with strong business process and end-to-end technical knowledge. Their primary functions include: * Acting as the main liaison between technologists and stakeholders * Establishing and maintaining relationships with the designated business partners to support strategic objectives * Facilitating solution assessment through analysis, management, communication of requirements, translation and alignment on solutions that meet IT strategy and business objectives * Analyzing and assisting the business with defining and/or designing new business solutions and documenting solution(s) * Being the first line of support for end users * Troubleshooting and issue resolution * Developing and maintaining complex reports and queries * System configuration and prototyping * Understanding of complex technology and applications; has experience with a multitude of business processes and information systems

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or related field OR An equivalent combination of education, experience, training, and/or certifications
  • 5 or more years of professional level IT/business experience with a minimum of 3 years of business analyst experience
  • Knowledge of Business analyst principles, requirements management, business case development, requirements elicitation, communication, analysis, advanced application functionality and process modeling
  • Knowledge of Adaptive and predictive project management methodologies
  • Knowledge of Creating technical design specifications
  • Knowledge of Developing reports, dashboards, and queries
  • Knowledge of Identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving issues with configuration items and development objects
  • Skills in Requirements management from planning to execution
  • Skills in Developing and tracking project requirements
  • Skills in Verbal and written communication
  • Skills in Meeting facilitation and negotiation
  • Skills in Creating and maintaining business relationships
  • Skills in Problem solving, making sound recommendations and managing stakeholder expectations
  • Skills in Basic SQL capabilities
  • Skills in Implementation of ERP systems and/or custom developed solutions
  • Ability to Use sound judgment and decision making
  • Ability to Understand table structures
  • Ability to Gather business requirements, interpret technical specifications and relate them to system functionality
  • Ability to Facilitate work sessions with stakeholders to design or redesign business processes to meet requirements
  • Ability to Manage assigned project tasks
  • Ability to Manage multiple technology projects/initiatives
  • Ability to Communicate clearly with technical personnel along with all levels of business leadership and project stakeholders
  • Ability to Prioritize course of action for self and others to ensure that work is managed effectively
  • Ability to Effectively translate business requirements into design specifications that can be leveraged by a developer to create a solution that meets business objectives
  • Ability to Proactively identify potential issues before they impact end users
  • Ability to Respond promptly and professionally to issues identified by end users, assist in identification and implementation of resolution
