About The Position

Working under the direction of the Manager, Software Engineering, the incumbent is responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and support of both legacy and modern applications that improve patient experience, clinical efficiency, and operational effectiveness across Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH). The role requires strong technical and problem-solving skills to deliver high-quality solutions, ensure business and user requirements are met, provide ongoing application support, and collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex issues and drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field required.
  • 5-8 years of related work experience required in software development.
  • Knowledge in Windows and Linux environments.
  • Knowledge of more than one of the following programming languages: Java, Python, C#, ASP.NET, PHP or JavaScript/Typescript.
  • Knowledge of AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform and infrastructure as services.
  • Knowledge of AI/Gen AI integration using Cloud services
  • Knowledge of relational database systems, SQL a plus.
  • Advanced technical computer skills as required for technical support specific to the functional area and related systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with various SDLC methodologies.
  • Hands on experience with AI/Gen AI tools and cloud environment

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications across traditional, cloud-native, and container platforms, leveraging technologies such as Java, .NET, Python and Node.js while ensuring code quality, performance, scalability and security.
  • Collaborate with other team members on various projects and BILH initiatives.
  • Create timeframes and work schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and other technical teams.
  • Assist and train intermediate developers when needed.
  • Provide code reviews for intermediate developers.
  • Debug software and ensure documentation is updated.
  • Provide on-call support as needed.
