About The Position

This position is for a Senior IT&S Technician at LIJ Medical Center, working onsite. The role involves ensuring the maintenance of software and hardware, implementing new or updated software modules, and providing comprehensive support for all end-user equipment including desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, and hospital equipment. The technician is responsible for meeting service level commitments and deliverables. Key duties include installing, configuring, and testing client workstations, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues across various devices, and performing performance upgrades to PC components. The role also requires collaboration with lead technicians on service line operations, assisting with IT strategies, staying current with system information and emerging technologies, escalating and resolving issues between applications and infrastructure, and providing hands-on support and training to end users. Additionally, the technician will provide extensive support for Epic End-User Devices (EUD) and applications, including client installations, updates, troubleshooting, workflow configurations, peripheral setup, and assistance during Epic go-live events and upgrades.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, required.
  • Ability to ensure the maintenance of software and hardware.
  • Ability to implement new or updated software modules.
  • Ability to provide support for all end-user equipment including, desktop, laptop, printers, scanners and hospital equipment.
  • Ability to ensure that service level commitments and deliverables are met.

  • Proficiency with diagnosing and repairing hardware issues, Fujitsu scanners, mobile carts, printers.
  • Epic End-User Device (EUD) and Application Support.
  • Support Epic client installations, updates, and troubleshooting on endpoint devices.
  • Assist with Epic end-user desktop workflows and configurations.
  • Set up, deploy, and maintain Epic-compatible peripherals such as scanners, signature pads, and printers.
  • Work with Epic application and infrastructure teams to resolve clinical desktop issues.
  • Support Citrix/Hyperspace delivery methods used for Epic access.
  • Assist with Epic go-live events, upgrade activities, and device deployments.

Responsibilities

  • Installs, configures, and tests client workstations and related hardware and software.
  • Diagnoses and resolves all hardware and software issues across a range of devices, including desktops, laptops, printers, iPads, and scanners.
  • Recommends, plans, and implements performance upgrades to PC boxes, including but not limited to installing hard disks, ribbon cables, hard drives, motor boards, memory chips, and CD-ROMS.
  • Collaborates with lead technicians and supports service line operation initiatives and program development.
  • Assists with the implementation of IT strategies.
  • Maintains current knowledge of system(s) information, changes, updates and emerging technologies.
  • Escalates issues between applications and other interfaced systems and infrastructure and assists with investigation and resolutions.
  • Provides hands-on support and training to end users.
  • Performs related duties as required.
