•$115,000 - $125,000

About The Position

Aprés is hiring a Senior IT Project Manager to run cross-functional company projects spanning Operations, Finance, Product, Sales, Marketing, and IT. The role manages projects from initiation through closeout, including IT-led initiatives that coordinate onsite business users, technical teams, and offshore developers across time zones. The project manager owns each assigned project’s plan, schedule, decision record, and reporting, and holds participating departments accountable for their commitments without taking over their work. The role manages project intake and prioritization, maintains a portfolio view, coordinates vendors and implementation partners, and supports system integrations, testing, rollout, and post-launch support. It also maintains PMO templates and project documentation, drives change management and user adoption, and ensures that operational teams receive written procedures and knowledge transfer before a project is closed. The position reports to leadership by exception and brings prioritization recommendations to the President.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience managing cross-functional projects.
  • At least 2 years of experience on projects involving a business system such as an ERP, ecommerce platform, or warehouse system.
  • Experience managing projects from charter through go-live and closeout, rather than only tracking tasks.
  • Ability to hold department leaders directly accountable for commitments and escalate when direct follow-up does not work.
  • Strong experience with Asana or a similar work management tool, including independently building and maintaining boards, templates, and reporting.
  • Technical fluency, including the ability to read specifications, understand system behavior, communicate with developers, QA, and business users, and distinguish technical constraints from preferences.
  • Experience driving user training, change management, and adoption of new tools and processes.
  • Ability to coordinate across time zones, including with teams approximately 12 hours apart.
  • Clear, concise written English and strong organization, follow-up, documentation, and multi-priority management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in consumer packaged goods, beauty, or ecommerce.
  • Experience on NetSuite or Shopify projects.
  • A project management certification such as PMP or PRINCE2.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Chinese and English.
  • Exposure to system integrations, backend architecture concepts, or SaaS platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with Jira for ticketing and sprint management and Confluence for documentation and knowledge management.

Responsibilities

  • Run assigned company projects from charter through scope, schedule, budget, risk management, and closeout, including discovery, requirements, technical planning, testing, rollout, and post-launch support.
  • Write project charters and obtain approval from the executive sponsor and business owner before work begins.
  • Break projects into tasks with a named owner and due date; track work in Asana and, for technical builds, link the project plan to the IT build tracked in Jira.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, RAID logs, and resource forecasts.
  • Escalate blocked items to the sponsor within two business days.
  • Serve as the single point of contact for each assigned project.
  • Prepare agendas, document decisions and actions, and facilitate project ceremonies such as kickoffs, standups, sprint planning, demos, retrospectives, and UAT sessions as needed.
  • Record project decisions, including the date, decision, and decision-maker.
  • Translate business requirements into actionable technical plans; support scope definition and question triage, and validate proposed solutions with technical teams.
  • Coordinate offshore development teams across time zones, ensuring clear handoffs, timely updates, and removal of blockers.
  • Coordinate integrations and data flows across internal and third-party applications; support integration testing plans and cutover activities.
  • Manage the PMO intake board in Asana, clarify incoming requests, and prepare them for prioritization.
  • Present project prioritization recommendations to the President, explaining business value, effort, dependencies, and risk.
  • Publish scheduled written project status updates covering progress, delays, decisions needed, and decision-makers; escalate exceptions to leadership.
  • Maintain a portfolio view of active projects, define and track project success metrics, and deliver post-implementation reviews with lessons learned.
  • Coordinate implementation partners, consultants, and software vendors, including schedules, deliverables, and open items; hold vendors to written scope and inform sponsors of scope changes before agreeing to them.
  • Support vendor coordination and IT procurement, including evaluation of software and services, quotes, onboarding, and renewals.
  • Maintain PMO templates for charters, status reports, risk logs, and closeout.
  • Maintain Confluence documentation for IT-related projects, including process guides, FAQs, project specifications, and SOPs, and ensure knowledge transfer.
  • Drive change management and adoption for projects introducing tools or processes by identifying impacts, preparing training plans, conducting training, and monitoring post-rollout usage.
  • Ensure each project provides a written procedure to the team responsible for operating the process after go-live; close projects only when that team can operate without the project manager.
  • Write project communications in plain language for nontechnical readers, including readers of English as a second language.
