The Senior IT Network Engineer owns and supports Spire’s corporate and back-office network environment. Reporting to the Global IT Director, this hands-on role is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, reliability, and lifecycle management of networking for offices, remote users, corporate services, and back-office systems. The role covers corporate routing, firewalls, VPN and remote access, office-to-office connectivity, DNS, wireless networking, network authentication, and related infrastructure. It also includes modernizing legacy and bespoke network services, improving resiliency, and reducing operational dependency on individual subject-matter experts. The successful candidate is proactive, self-directed, and able to own complex technical problems from architecture through implementation and ongoing operation. They apply strong network-engineering fundamentals and disciplined operational practices, including documentation, change management, monitoring, lifecycle management, and follow-through. The position works closely with Security, Infrastructure, Facilities, Engineering, End User Technology, carriers, vendors, and other technical teams. Spire operates a hybrid work model, and this position requires at least three days per week in the office. Access to US export-controlled software and/or technology may be required; Spire will arrange any necessary licenses if needed.
