About The Position

The Senior IT Network Engineer owns and supports Spire’s corporate and back-office network environment. Reporting to the Global IT Director, this hands-on role is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, reliability, and lifecycle management of networks supporting offices, remote users, corporate services, and back-office systems. The engineer works closely with Security, Infrastructure, Facilities, Engineering, and other technical teams. The role covers corporate routing, firewalls, VPN and remote access, office-to-office connectivity, DNS, wireless networking, network authentication, and related infrastructure. It also includes modernizing legacy and bespoke network services, improving resiliency, and reducing operational dependence on individual subject-matter experts. The successful candidate is proactive and self-directed, able to own complex technical problems from architecture through implementation and ongoing operation, and applies disciplined documentation, change management, monitoring, lifecycle management, and follow-through. The position follows Spire’s hybrid work model and requires working in the office at least three days per week. Access to US export-controlled software or technology may be required; Spire will arrange any necessary licenses. The anticipated base salary is $130,000–$150,000 USD, with final compensation based on location, skills, experience, and qualifications. The role may also be eligible for annual equity awards and Spire’s employee benefits program.
