Location/Region: This position is located in our office in Maple Gove, MN 5 days a week. What’s the role? The Senior Inventory Control Associate III is responsible for the preparation of spotting, crating, and shipping our Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM’s) and accessories shipping outbound from our Carl Zeiss Maple Grove, MN facility to our customers. This position will manage all larger freight-related items which require the ability to help physically crate machines with large pieces of wood and operating power tools such as a cordless drill. Ability to load and unload different trailer types using a forklift is also an essential part of the daily role.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Ability to work accurately with numbers
  • Good written and oral communication skills internally and externally.
  • Basic computer skills (E-mail, website navigation and Microsoft) preferred.
  • Ability to relate well to others and function as a member of the overall team.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform assigned activities consistently and efficiently.
  • Prefer a minimum of 2 years of forklift experience.
  • Lift, move and control up to 75 pounds without mechanical aid.
  • Ability to stand up to eight hours a day.
  • Wear steel toe shoes.
  • Mechanical experience.
  • Able to operate power tools such as a cordless drill daily and table saw as needed.
  • Will be lifting tops and sides of large crates and attaching them to a pallet to form a cube daily.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SAP material control processes preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

  • Picking, packing and processing all machine shipments in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of all outgoing shipments to ensure compliance with current processes and procedures (documentation, packaging, etc.)
  • Maintain a strong relationship with both our internal and external customers and carriers.
  • Operates a forklift for loading and unloading distinct types of truck trailers on a daily basis.
  • Communicates status of work to supervisor and recommends improvements to procedures.
  • Ensure the work area is maintained in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Works safely, complies with safety rules, and promotes safe work practices.
  • Able to comply with department and company policies and procedures and perform any other tasks or duties assigned.
