About The Position

Rice Fergus Miller (RFM) is an architecture, interior design, and planning firm with offices in Bremerton and Spokane, Washington. The Senior Interior Designer is a design leadership role in RFM’s Hospitality practice, whose portfolio includes hotel, casino, food and beverage, retail, spa, and conference environments. Hotel design is the central focus, with occasional support for high-end Senior Living work when hospitality, food service, or restaurant design expertise is a good fit. The role reports to the Hospitality Project Manager and is salaried and exempt. The Senior Interior Designer leads concept development and client-facing presentations, working closely with the Principal-in-Charge and Senior Project Manager. The designer owns design intent from early concept through construction documentation, aligning design decisions with client goals, brand direction, operational needs, budget, schedule, and expectations. The position also contributes to the direction and development of the Hospitality practice, supports pursuits, mentors colleagues, and helps shape the firm’s design culture. The role includes producing and overseeing interior design documentation, finish specifications, and material selections; coordinating with architectural, engineering, and specialty consultants; and applying code, accessibility, and life-safety knowledge. It requires managing multiple concurrent projects and integrating FF&E knowledge—including products, costs, budgets, and procurement workflows—into overall design delivery. Periodic travel to job sites, client meetings, and industry events is required, as is maintaining manufacturer and vendor relationships. The position supports a hybrid work arrangement. Team members are expected to work on-site when projects require full-team co-location. Applicants must reside in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, or Montana, or be willing to relocate. The stated salary range is $100,000–$130,000 annually, depending on experience. RFM describes its compensation and benefits as competitive and mentions flexible hours, licensing and certification reimbursement, exam study materials, and other benefits.
