Homes England, the government’s housing and regeneration agency, is seeking a Senior Interaction / Service Designer to lead interaction design across complex services. The role involves working across multidisciplinary service teams to design end-to-end services that meet user needs and contribute to organisational objectives and strategic priorities. The designer will work with service managers, programme directors and delivery teams to develop hypotheses, then design, test and iterate solutions. They will help set design direction, embed user-centred design practices in agile teams, use evidence to challenge assumptions and explain design decisions, and communicate complex design problems, risks and unresolved issues to stakeholders. The role also includes facilitating design sessions and workshops, creating and testing prototypes and design patterns, advising on inclusive, accessible and environmentally sustainable design, and mentoring colleagues. The assignment is an initial three-month contract, inside IR35. It is remote with occasional office travel and may only be worked from within the UK. Homes England’s mission is to ensure more homes are built where they are most needed, improve affordability and create a sustainable housing market. It also has a role in spearheading regeneration and working with places to reduce economic disparity, empower local leaders and create equal opportunities.
