The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs. Candidate will be a member of the Requirements & Process Integration Group within the Program Integration Department. The Space Operations Division (SOD) Program Integration office provides strategic Program/Project Management support and leadership, including requirements integration and Change Management Process in meeting the flight and ground milestones across the contract. This position is a senior-level leadership role requiring extensive customer interaction, technical integration expertise, and the ability to manage complex engineering tasks across multiple systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering or technical equivalent from an accredited institution; at least 10 years of experience and/or an advanced degree. Additional relevant education may be substituted for a portion of the experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in systems engineering, integration, or program/project management
  • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering projects
  • Proficiency with requirements management (e.g., RMA, IBM DOORS, etc.) including module creation, linking, filtering, and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the development and integration of flight and ground processing hardware requirements
  • Implementing and integrating the Certification of Flight Readiness (CoFR) process
  • Leading and reviewing moderate to complex engineering projects and assigning tasks to peers across disciplines
  • Leading evaluations for Change Management Process and assessments for Program Assessment Requests
  • Recommending and implementing process improvements for all areas of responsibility
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members
  • Managing and maintaining data integrity within Requirements Management Application (RMA), including configuration control, traceability, structured requirement decomposition, and verification planning
  • Supporting development of metrics and dashboards to assess requirement maturity, integration status, and risk posture
  • Demonstrating thorough working knowledge of tools such as RMA, Change Management Support Tool (CMST), IBM DOORS, and Solumina
  • Leading complex technical presentations to management and customers
  • Performs other duties as assigned
