About The Position

This role oversees the processing of insurance claims, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with laws and regulations. The manager will proactively manage claims from start to finish, identify potential issues, financial implications, and ensure timely resolution. This position also identifies areas for process improvement and risk mitigation. The role requires a detail-oriented, team-playing, self-starting individual with a strong understanding of claims management and financial implications of losses. The manager will act as an insurance liaison, advisor, and resource for department administrators and other personnel.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of experience in commercial property and casualty insurance (with either broker or insurance carrier), or self-insured public health care company
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance and/or economics preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Insurance license preferred
  • Proficiency in insurance claims management software and systems
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and other productivity tools.

  • Partnering with carriers and third-party claims administrator for loss prevention and claims management

Responsibilities

  • Maintains accurate and current files and databases
  • Manages RMIS (RisKonnect) and is subject matter expert
  • Serves as liaison between OH BWC and SP
  • Maintains SharePoint site
  • Subject matter expert for patient compensation funds
  • Participates in reconciling audits performed by insurance carriers and is familiar with large retention insurance programs across multiple lines of coverage
  • Functions as an insurance liaison, advisor and resource person for department administrators, and other personnel.
  • Oversee the processing of insurance claims, ensuring that all claims are handled efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Proactively manages claims from start to finish, identifying any potential issues or delays, financial implications, and ensuring timely resolution
