About the position
The job overview for the Senior Infrastructure Engineer position is to maintain, manage, and secure the IT infrastructure in both on-premises and AWS environments. The role involves utilizing DevOps practices to improve the data center environment and collaborating with engineering teams to find the best solutions within AWS. The candidate should have experience in infrastructure, data center deployment and maintenance, disaster recovery/business continuity solutions, Windows Server, VMware, and network administration. They will also be responsible for monitoring and troubleshooting IT infrastructure, analyzing performance metrics, and contributing to the establishment of best practices.
Responsibilities
- Maintain, manage, and secure IT infrastructure (on-premises)
- Learn and build infrastructure within AWS to support products
- Monitor and troubleshoot IT infrastructure
- Utilize devops practices within the datacenter environment
- Analyze and report on performance metrics
- Create and maintain documentation related to IT infrastructure
- Work closely with engineering teams to find the best solution within AWS
- Configure and manage network monitoring services and server patching
- Configure application integrations through platform native API's and/or API management platform
- Support and collaborate with internal stakeholders
- Contribute to the establishment of best practices
- Drive continuous improvement of IT infrastructure processes and technology
- Ensure availability and scalability of the IT network and server infrastructure
- Oversee mitigation of risks raised by the IT Security lead
- Participate in on-call rotations and technical escalations
- Have at least 4 years of experience working in an enterprise environment with at least 2 years working in data centers
- Minimum experience with AWS and devops practices
- Strong experience in infrastructure (databases, Active Directory, DNS, firewalls, networking)
- Advanced knowledge/experience of data center deployment and maintenance
- Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Solutions
- Windows Server 2012/2016/2019
- Knowledge of Linux CLI
- VMware Enterprise-level experience
- Enterprise and remote site backup solutions
- Enterprise SAN technologies (NetApp/Solidfire a plus)
- System Monitoring/Alerting (PRTG a plus)
- Network administration including firewalls, switches, LBs (Fortigate / Brocade / Meraki / F5 a plus)
- Site to site, IPsec and SSL VPNs
- Practical experience implementing common TCP/IP services such as DNS
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience working in an enterprise environment with at least 2 years working in data centers
- Minimum experience with AWS and devops practices
