About The Position

Engineered Air is one of North America's largest custom manufacturers of heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration products. They are seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Senior Infrastructure Administrator, reporting to the Information Systems Manager. This role is 100% office-based, working onsite at the company head office facility in Calgary. The Senior Infrastructure Administrator is responsible for providing expert Information Technology (IT) system support services across the organization. They will assist with IT project management, resource management, hardware installation and maintenance, troubleshooting, and communicating with all users of the Engineered Air technology infrastructure. They may also be required to assist with IT strategic planning, identifying, selecting, and deploying new technology to support organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Post Secondary Degree or Diploma in computer science, or an acceptable combination of education and relevant experience required.
  • Advanced knowledge of networking, operating system, storage system, backups, and server architectures, including Microsoft o365, Microsoft Server 2016-2025, MS SQL Databases, VMWare, RDS, Veeam, and HPE Storage.
  • Good knowledge of programming concepts, software development cycles, and associated tools and platforms, including PowerShell.
  • Proficiency with VPN networks, firewalls, encryption, and other aspects of network security technologies.
  • Highly effective project management skills, including prioritization, resourcefulness, and adaptability.
  • Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization and with vendors.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, manage, and administer IT services, programs, and support throughout the company, including implementation of new technologies to support the business.
  • Provide internal IT support (server security, software updates, hardware maintenance, system maintenance, backups, network security, etc.).
  • Work alongside management on the direction and facilitation of IT strategic and tactical planning.
  • Oversee project management for IT-related undertakings, including clear capture of business requirements, provision of functional deliverables, milestone planning, and project postmortems.
  • Liaise with vendors and service providers to ensure efficient and cost-effective acquisition of technology purchases; oversee warranties and service agreements.
  • Stay informed on new or emerging trends and technologies that provide clear benefits to the organization, business partners, and/or customers.
  • Plan and provide training for both Information Systems team members and end user members as necessary, acting as a champion for the IT department and its initiatives.
