About The Position

This role requires a Senior Information Systems Administrator with a firm understanding of end-to-end IT environment management, including Windows and Linux systems, virtualization, and storage. The position involves managing LAN/WAN systems, firewalls, switches, VPNs, cellular communication systems, and mobile devices. A foundational knowledge of cable plants and fiber optic links is also necessary. The administrator will be responsible for IT security principles, policies, and procedures, as well as managing cloud-based systems and vendor-supported systems. The role demands excellent problem-solving skills, creativity, dedication, and a professional demeanor. The ability to train and explain hardware and software usage to others, perform hardware installations and upgrades, and manage software enhancements is crucial. Familiarity with telecommunications, VOIP phones, and analog telephony is required. Occasional after-hours and on-call work is expected.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer related field or equivalent with relevant work experience.
  • Computer and telecommunications background essential.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-end management of an IT environment including Windows and Linux systems, virtualization, and storage.
  • LAN/WAN management systems, firewall management, switching, VPN systems, cellular communication systems, OSI Model, and mobile computing devices.
  • Manage wiring for network and non-network devices, sometimes requiring the use of ladders or lifts.
  • IT Security principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Management of cloud-based systems.
  • Willingness to learn industry-specific systems and technologies.
  • Management of vendor-supported systems.
  • Hardware installations and upgrades.
  • Software enhancements.
