About The Position

The Senior Industrial Engineer serves as a lead role within the Distribution and Logistics Engineering group, supporting customer implementations, large-scale projects, and technology deployments. This position designs and implements distribution warehouse and supply chain models across the UPS network while leveraging the latest technologies. The incumbent applies work measurement, methods and procedures, operations research, financial analysis, information system modeling, statistical analysis, project management, and site layout design in a distribution environment. This position coordinates work across engineering teams, cross-functional partners, and customers to ensure expectations are met while achieving targeted financial outcomes.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree (or internationally comparable degree) in Industrial Engineering or related field
Must live in the same geographic location or willing to relocate yourself for the position.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer.

Understanding of Warehouse Management System (WMS) design and functionality

Responsibilities

Collaborates with Solutions and Business Development to define project scope, identify data requirements, and align on stakeholder roles and responsibilities
Recommends adjustments to ensure solutions incorporate an accurate scope of work
Serves as a resource for operational problem identification, resolution, and continuous improvement to support organic growth opportunities
Analyzes optimization and modeling needs to determine data required to develop operating plans and distribution layouts
Performs cost-benefit analyses to ensure effective use of resources and maximize return on investment
Conducts gap analyses between proposed solutions and post-implementation operating results
Resolves conflicts and clarifies communications with stakeholders to maintain alignment with corporate objectives
Assists in validating planned versus actual task completion to assess project impacts
Develops and implements solutions to operational issues and provides recommendations for improvement
Participates in Business Review and Planning meetings and partners with the operations management team to implement solutions and conduct follow-up
Works with the operations management team to implement changes that drive cost reduction and service improvements
