About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is looking for a Senior Industrial Engineer (Level 4) to join our team in Smithfield and Lemont Furnace, Pennsylvania. This role applies advanced industrial engineering concepts, approaches, and techniques to product, process, and services to meet program requirements. The engineer will review the development of complex plant and equipment layouts, capacity plans, accident prevention measures, sequencing of operations, and work flows. They will identify new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and service operations, and design, maintain, and optimize the production system by integrating design, supply base, facilities, equipment, and personnel. The position also involves reviewing work flow design and analysis, leading the development of models, databases, and spreadsheets to analyze data and provide summary analysis and metrics for consultation to leaders and customers. Additionally, the role includes leading research, design, development, improvement, and implementation of processes and tools to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality for large-scale systems integration and asset utilization. The engineer will review plans and programs for facility/factory modifications and revisions to operating methods, evaluate product assembly instructions, and standardize assembly practices. They will lead operations planning, including work statement analysis, budgeting and forecasts, capacity and constraint analysis, and production change, to ensure technical goals and objectives are met. This includes leading execution planning using project management, planning and scheduling, and shop load practices, and monitoring production, performance visibility, and recovery planning support. The role ensures compliance with established industry safety, design standards, and ergonomic guidelines. This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 9+ years of experience with Industrial Engineering or a similar role (i.e. Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, etc.)
  • Experience with Industrial Engineering information systems and tools
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Tools, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
