About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is looking for a Senior Industrial Engineer (Level 4) to join our team in Smithfield and Lemont Furnace, Pennsylvania. This position applies advanced industrial engineering concepts, approaches and techniques to product, process and services to meet program requirements. It involves reviewing the development of complex plant and equipment layouts, capacity plans, accident prevention measures, sequencing of operations and work flows. The role also identifies new techniques and technological developments for integration into the production process and service operations, and designs, maintains, and optimizes the production system by integrating design, supply base, facilities, equipment, and personnel. Additionally, the Senior Industrial Engineer reviews work flow design and analysis, leads the development of models, databases and spreadsheets to analyze data and provides summary analysis and metrics for consultation to leaders and customers. The position also leads research, design, development, improvement, and implementation of processes and tools to enhance schedule performance, lower cost, and improve quality, for large scale systems integration and asset utilization. It includes reviewing plans and programs for facility/factory modifications and revisions to operating methods, evaluating product assembly instructions and standardizing assembly practices. The role leads operations planning, including work statement analysis, budgeting and forecasts, capacity and constraint analysis and production change, to ensure technical goals and objectives are met. It also leads execution planning by using project management, planning and scheduling and shop load practices, monitors production, performance visibility and recovery planning support, and ensures compliance with established industry safety, design standards and ergonomic guidelines. This position is expected to be 100% onsite.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • 9+ years of experience with Industrial Engineering or a similar role (i.e. Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, etc.)
  • Experience with Industrial Engineering information systems and tools
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Tools, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
