About The Position

The Senior HVAC Specialist provides maintenance for the RCC and RHA venues, which includes maintaining and repairing the venues, preventative maintenance and responding to clients’ requests and troubleshooting technical issues efficiently. This position will be devoted to performing complex, specialized and skilled maintenance troubleshooting and repair of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems across our three venues. Additionally, this position will support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of our HVAC systems and provide emergency response coverage if necessary.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalency
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in construction or skilled maintenance and repair of a variety of building systems, including HVAC, electrical and plumbing, or related work
  • Ability to follow preventive maintenance schedules
  • Ability to troubleshoot common issues and coordinate repairs with contractors or in-house maintenance staff
  • Ability to oversee projects from conception to completion while ensuring on time completion within budget

Nice To Haves

  • EPA 608, North American Technician Excellence (NATE), HVAC Excellence or similar certifications
  • Knowledge of HVAC Systems
  • Knowledge of Fire systems and fire panels
  • Knowledge of Sprinkler system regulations
  • Knowledge of Maintenance and repair techniques for building systems and equipment
  • Knowledge of Facilities management principles and practices
  • Knowledge of Modern office practices and procedures including the use of standard office equipment and computer applications such as word processing, database, and spreadsheet applications
  • Skill in planning, scheduling, and coordinating facility maintenance projects such as renovations, upgrades, or expansions
  • Skill in verbal and written communication

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, diagnose, and repair commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration systems, including boilers, chillers, cooling towers, air handlers, rooftop units, and exhaust systems
  • Program, calibrate, and troubleshoot HVAC control systems and building automation systems (BAS) while monitoring performance and adjusting settings to optimize performance
  • Ensure HVAC systems comply with federal, state, and local codes, including EPA, OSHA, and energy regulations
  • Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical and electronic system failures and replace motors, compressors, controls, valves, and related components when needed
  • Provide technical assistant and training to maintenance staff
  • Participate and adhere to department safety policies and procedures
