About The Position

UDR is seeking qualified candidates for a Senior HVAC Designer opportunity to support an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) project. This role requires a highly skilled individual proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) and 3D modeling, with the ability to originate and produce drawings and models of moderate to advanced complexity. The designer will be responsible for reading, interpreting, and generating design drawings with minimal supervision, as well as performing field walk-downs, developing design details, and overseeing the work of other designers. Additionally, the role involves developing estimates, schedules, staffing requirements, and various project reports.

Requirements

  • Highly skilled in computer-aided design (CAD) with demonstrated experience with computer-aided design.
  • 3D modeling experience required (S3D preferred).
  • A combination of education and ten (10) years’ experience (associate degree preferred) in drafting related to Engineering and Construction (nuclear preferred).
  • Background and experience must include drafting/designer experience in engineering fields, such as electrical, mechanical, structural, communications, architectural, fire protection or civil.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Federal (including Department of Energy Orders), State, and Local codes and standards applicable to specialized (nuclear or other areas) engineering design.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen

  • S3D preferred

Responsibilities

  • Use drafting applications to originate and produce drawings and 3D models of moderate to advanced complexity.
  • Read, interpret, and generate design drawings of moderate to advanced complexity with minimal supervision from engineering.
  • Walk-down field systems with minimal guidance, interpret field direction, generate advanced design details, create new drawings, modify existing drawings, and direct, check and approve work done by other designers.
  • Develop estimates, schedules, staffing requirements, progress reports, key quantities tracking reports, project scope of services, scope of facilities etc.
