About The Position

Zeus Jones is looking for a Minneapolis-based Senior Designer with 5+ years of experience. Our Design team shapes brand-defining experiences that engage, surprise, and differentiate. Our designers are ambitious, empathetic, and self-motivated. They are leaders who solve problems through design rather than decorate around them. They go beyond branding, using their craft to tackle business challenges alongside strategists and creatives. This role offers the opportunity to apply a broad range of design skills across brand, digital products, spatial, and physical product design to build brands that mean more to the world.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience
  • Deep expertise in the tools that get the work made (including Figma's more advanced features and emerging GenAI tools)
  • Fluency across formats including branding, art direction, experiential design, and digital product
  • Collaborative. Comfortable making work alone and with others. Understands feedback as part of the craft.
  • Curious. Restless about what's next for design, for business, for culture.
  • Flexible. Follows the potential of an idea rather than the comfort of a process.
  • Ambitious. Wants to solve real problems, not just make flashy artifacts.
  • Intuitive. Can make and defend decisions from incomplete or conflicting information.
  • Observant. Listens to what people say, and what they don't.
  • Emergent. Believes their skills are never done growing. Has wins to point to, and is always looking for the next challenge.
  • Autonomous. Self-motivated. Comfortable working without close management.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and translate cultural signals into work that keeps brands relevant and distinctive.
  • Maintain a strong pulse on design and cultural movements, and understand how the most interesting brands are shaping their presence in unexpected ways.
  • Mine insights to position brands at the leading edge of business.
  • Stay close to the cultural landscape that shapes culture itself.
  • Align diverse stakeholders around a design vision and drive organizational change.
  • Bring new forms of inspiration into our process.
  • Develop presentations, workshop methodologies, and change management strategies that build belief in brand ideas, and ensure those ideas survive contact with complex organizations.
  • Take an idea from concept to execution, and make it sharper at every step.
  • Hold a vision and land the details.
  • Work from loose or undefined inputs, build a clear point of view, and bring others along, whether that's a cross-disciplinary team, a client, or a peer giving feedback.
  • Make design decisions legible to non-designers.
  • Have the judgment to know which decisions matter most at each stage.
