About The Position

As a Senior HR Business Partner at Sovereign Insurance, you will provide strategic and consultative services to key client groups, including EVPs, VPs, and AVPs. You will help shape and deliver impactful HR solutions by leveraging the expertise of The Co-operators Enterprise HR Centres of Excellence (CoEs). Your role will involve acting as a strategic business partner, offering consultation and advice on all aspects of HR strategic programs and practices to support business challenges and achieve strategic goals. This includes activities in change management, organizational design, recruitment and selection of senior leaders, total rewards, workforce planning, and analytics.

Requirements

  • Ten (10) years of experience in an HR Partnering role.
  • A minimum of two (2) years experience leading a team of HR professionals.
  • A post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Commerce or a related discipline.
  • Completion of the Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) designation.
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of human resources best practices in areas related to: Talent Management, Employee Engagement, Change Management, Total Rewards, and Organizational Design.
  • Significant consultation, facilitation, and coaching experience.
  • Proficiency in English is required.

  • French is an asset.
  • Having a LOMA certification or CIP designation is an asset.
  • Bilingualism at asset (French and English).

Responsibilities

  • Serving as a trusted advisor to senior leaders supporting organizational design, workforce planning, succession and talent development.
  • Building trusted business relationships across Sovereign by understanding business strategies, interpreting, and analyzing talent metric trends and assisting in making appropriate business decisions and talent recommendations.
  • Collaborating with Centers of Excellence to influence design, delivery and prioritization of HR programs that align with Sovereign’s needs.
  • Contributing to the development of annual HR priorities and goals which closely align to business needs and organizational strategy.
  • Leading, developing, and coaching a team of HR Business Partners. This includes recruiting and selecting talent, managing and rewarding performance, and fostering an agile culture to deliver on strategic objectives.
