As a Senior Human Resources Business Partner, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees across the organization, helping shape culture, strengthen engagement, navigate complex workplace challenges, and drive organizational effectiveness. The Senior Human Resources Business Partner plays a critical role in creating a positive, compliant, and people-centered workplace. Serving as both a strategic consultant and operational partner, this position helps leaders navigate employee relations, workforce planning, performance management, organizational change, employee engagement, learning and development, and HR operations. By building strong partnerships across the organization, this role helps ensure employees and volunteers have the support, resources, and experiences needed to thrive while advancing organizational goals and strengthening workplace culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five (5) or more years of progressive Human Resources experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in employee relations, HR operations, workforce engagement, organizational support, and HR business partnership functions.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and HRIS/payroll systems.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate complex workplace situations with sound judgment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Paycor or similar HRIS/payroll systems.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification.
  • Experience supporting workforce development, employee engagement, and organizational development initiatives.
  • Experience working in a nonprofit, cultural institution, museum, educational, hospitality, or service-oriented environment.
  • Experience analyzing workforce metrics and utilizing data to drive HR strategy and decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees on employee relations, workforce challenges, organizational policies, and HR best practices.
  • Support performance management, accountability, workplace communication, and team effectiveness initiatives.
  • Manage employee relations matters including coaching, investigations, conflict resolution, corrective action, and workplace concerns.
  • Support employee and volunteer engagement initiatives that foster an inclusive, welcoming, and people-centered culture.
  • Assist with recognition, wellness, engagement, and culture-building programs across the organization.
  • Conduct stay interviews, exit interviews, and workforce feedback initiatives to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with leaders to identify employee development, leadership training, and workforce capability needs.
  • Support learning and development initiatives, compliance training programs, and employee growth opportunities.
  • Assist leaders with coaching, feedback conversations, performance development, and workforce planning efforts.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers to support recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, and talent development initiatives.
  • Assist with job descriptions, postings, candidate evaluation, interviews, and onboarding activities.
  • Build and maintain partnerships with educational institutions, workforce development organizations, and community partners to strengthen talent pipelines.
  • Support day-to-day HR operations while ensuring responsive, high-quality service delivery.
  • Analyze workforce data, HR metrics, and trends to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Lead and participate in HR projects, change initiatives, process improvements, and organizational effectiveness efforts.
