As the Senior HR Business Partner supporting our National Merchandising team, you will serve as a key strategic advisor to senior merchandising leaders across categories including fresh, center store, private label, and pricing. Your role will focus on aligning talent strategies with business priorities, driving organizational effectiveness, and shaping a high-performing, engaged, and future-ready team. You will work closely with cross-functional partners in Talent, Compensation, and Learning & Development to deliver solutions that support innovation, collaboration, and results across our merchandising organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field required
  • 7 plus years of progressive HR experience, with 3+ years in an HRBP or COE-facing role
  • Demonstrated ability to operate with influence and impact in a matrixed, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Business-savvy, solutions-oriented, and comfortable advising at VP and SVP levels.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SPHR, SHRM-SCP) strongly preferred.
  • experience supporting corporate merchandising, category management, or commercial teams is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic thought partnership to senior merchandising leaders, influencing organizational design, team capabilities, and succession plans to drive business outcomes.
  • Lead HR strategy for the merchandising function across multiple business units
  • Coach leaders on talent development, performance management, and creating inclusive, feedback-driven team cultures.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to implement hiring strategies and build strong internal/external pipelines for merchandising and category leadership roles.
  • Analyze workforce data and organizational health metrics to proactively identify challenges and recommend action plans.
  • Lead change management initiatives to support org transformations, system implementations, and evolving business models.
  • Drive consistent application of HR programs including performance reviews, promotions, job leveling, and compensation planning.
  • Manage complex employee relations cases with discretion and sound judgment.
