About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior HR Generalist to lead the firm's compliance, employee relations, workplace safety, workers' compensation, and employment-based immigration programs. Working closely with the HR Director, firm leaders, legal counsel, and external partners, you will help ensure our people practices are compliant, consistent, and aligned with our collaborative culture. You'll thrive in this role if you have strong knowledge of California employment law and experience supporting a multi-state workforce. You will build trusted relationships and partner effectively with leaders at all levels, balancing empathy, sound judgment, and objectivity when handling sensitive employee matters. You will enjoy improving processes and finding practical solutions, demonstrate excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, and are passionate about creating safe, healthy workplaces and leading compliance initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Six or more years of progressive HR experience including employee relations, HR compliance, workplace safety, and workers' compensation.
  • Strong knowledge of California employment law and experience supporting a multi-state workforce.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification.
  • Experience with employment-based immigration.
  • Experience in a professional services or consulting environment.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leaders to provide practical guidance on performance management, employee relations, workplace concerns, conflict resolution, and workplace investigations when needed.
  • Monitor changes in federal, state, and local employment laws and help ensure ongoing compliance through policies, practices, and manager guidance.
  • Maintain, enhance, and continuously improve HR policies, programs, training, and processes that promote consistency, compliance, operational efficiency, and a positive team member experience.
  • Partner with leaders to support and continuously enhance the firm's workplace safety programs, including OSHA compliance, safety training, incident reporting, prevention initiatives, and coordination of workers' compensation claims.
  • Maintain employment records and support HR audits, compliance reporting, and regulatory requirements to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with applicable laws.
  • Coordinate employment-based immigration matters, including visa sponsorships, renewals, and compliance, in partnership with outside legal counsel.
