About The Position

The Massachusetts Port Authority is seeking a Senior HR Business Partner to join their dynamic organization. This role involves serving as a strategic and trusted HR partner, building strong relationships, and influencing leaders with confidence, tact, and integrity. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of business operations and workforce dynamics, balancing organizational priorities, employee experience, and operational needs within a complex and often unionized environment. This position requires collaboration, resilience, and a solutions-oriented approach, with the ability to navigate sensitive situations with fairness and discretion, coach leaders, and use data to drive thoughtful decisions that strengthen workforce effectiveness and organizational performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Labor Relations, Organizational Development, or a related field required.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR Business Partner or HR generalist experience, including senior-level support of complex, operational, unionized, highly regulated, or large enterprise organizations.
  • Strong expertise in employee relations, performance management, workplace investigations, employment law, labor principles, policy interpretation, and collective bargaining environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships, influence leaders at all levels, communicate complex issues effectively, and align people strategies with operational and business objectives.

  • Advanced degree and/or HR certification preferred.

  • Provides thoughtful guidance on employee and labor relations matters, fostering fair, consistent, and compliant outcomes while strengthening accountability, employee engagement, workplace effectiveness, and leadership capability.
  • Leverages data, insights, and strategic thinking to anticipate workforce needs, identify emerging trends, and develop proactive solutions that enhance talent pipelines, organizational readiness, workforce capability, and overall business success.
