About The Position

Pennylane is seeking an experienced Senior HR Business Partner to join their People team. This role reports directly to the Lead HR Business Partner and the Country Manager Germany. The position involves both operational and strategic responsibilities, acting as a trusted sparring partner for teams and a program manager to shape and develop a first-class employee experience. The role requires a strong understanding of talent management and organizational design in tech companies, supporting teams during a period of strong growth. The Senior HR Business Partner will be responsible for implementing and supporting projects developed with the HR Development Manager.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a comparable role, with experience in fast-growing companies being a central component.
  • Broad HR experience, including onboarding, Learning & Development, labor law, and Compensation & Benefits.
  • Excellent ability to build trust and develop sustainable working relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to connect different stakeholders and international teams, and to communicate complex topics between HQ structures and local teams clearly, diplomatically, and solution-oriented.
  • Very good written and spoken communication skills in German and English.
  • Experience in managing performance management in rapidly growing organizations (300+ new hires per year).
  • Ability to confidently guide internal stakeholders through projects, e.g., in organizational design or anticipating future needs and challenges.
  • High curiosity for AI, automation, and modern HR technologies, and the ability to pragmatically integrate new approaches into daily work.
  • Strong operational skills and ability to act as a strategic sparring partner for leadership teams in a dynamic growth phase.
  • Ability to draw energy from a constantly changing work environment.
  • Ability to work very collaboratively, both within the team and with other stakeholders.
  • Sufficient experience to set business-relevant priorities in daily work.

Nice To Haves

  • French language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Establish regular rituals with managers and team members to build trusting relationships and become the first point of contact for teams.
  • Support teams throughout the entire employee lifecycle (onboarding, 3- and 6-month feedback, performance reviews, salary rounds, internal transfers, offboarding, etc.) with a deep understanding of the target groups.
  • Advise managers on organizational design, individual performance, promotions, and compensation.
  • Support employees with topics such as Learning & Development, career paths, and personal development.
  • Act as a central interface between the international HQ and the German market, translating global strategies into local measures while ensuring cultural specificities, local needs, and labor law measures are considered.
  • Actively drive the use of modern AI tools and data-based HR processes, identify optimization potential, and develop pragmatic solutions for a scalable international people setup.
  • Actively participate in projects along the People Team's roadmap.
  • Develop and manage sound data analyses and reports, aligned with business needs, to measure the effectiveness of programs and processes.
