Senior HR Business Partner - R&D

ChainalysisNew York, NY

About The Position

The People Team at Chainalysis is dedicated to enabling growth, building an inclusive environment, and providing the benefits and perks that help our employees balance work, life, and happiness. Our job is to make sure Chainalysis has the right talent, structure, and people practices in place so our teams can innovate quickly and sustainably. We’re looking for a strategic, energetic Senior Human Resources Business Partner to embed with our R&D organization — partnering closely with leaders across Engineering, Product, Data, and Security. You’ll be a critical connector between people strategy and product strategy: ensuring we have the right people in the right roles, aligning on organizational and talent plans, and using data and insight to help our technical teams ship high‑quality work at scale.

Requirements

  • Strong HR expertise and a proven track record as a thought partner to senior leaders, ideally within or adjacent to technical or product organizations
  • Skilled at navigating and facilitating change in fast‑moving environments, with the ability to influence, create alignment, and build durable support for new ideas and initiatives
  • Experience working across global employment laws and HR practices
  • Comfortable juggling multiple complex projects at once, setting crisp priorities, and delivering against tight timelines
  • Innately curious, data‑driven, and operate with a high sense of urgency that turns insight into action and measurable results

Nice To Haves

  • High‑growth startup or scale‑up experience, especially supporting R&D or technical teams
  • Experience in web3 / blockchain or adjacent crypto companies
  • Experience in SaaS environments and subscription-based business models
  • Demonstrated success scaling technical organizations or teams (e.g., engineering, product, data, security)
  • Familiarity partnering with employees across US, UK, Denmark, and Israel in particular is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Build influential, trusted partnerships with senior R&D leaders globally to design and execute people strategies that directly support product and engineering roadmaps
  • Understand business and technical objectives (from delivery velocity to quality and reliability) and translate them into an HR agenda that drives team health, productivity, and sustainable performance
  • Develop a deep understanding of how our R&D teams build, ship, and operate products, serving as a thought partner on org design, leadership, and team effectiveness within your portfolio and cross‑functionally
  • Coach engineering and product leaders on complex employee relations topics, including performance management, feedback frameworks, and career pathing for technical roles, and step in as a neutral mediator when needed
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and Finance on strategic headcount planning for R&D – identifying critical technical roles, succession pipelines, and hiring priorities that keep us ahead of business needs
