About The Position

IRC in Sacramento’s Financial Empowerment Center is expanding its services to include housing stabilization for low- to moderate-income households in the Sacramento region. Through the Stockton Boulevard Housing Stabilization Program, IRC provides direct financial assistance for rental arrears, utilities, emergency expenses, rent or deposits, and moving costs, paired with financial coaching to help households avoid eviction, prepare for homeownership, and maintain long-term housing stability. The Senior Housing Stabilization Specialist is the primary point of contact for housing stabilization services. The role conducts intake and eligibility determinations, guides clients through housing resources and assistance programs, administers direct financial assistance, and coordinates with financial coaches and community partners. It is a senior specialist position requiring independent judgment, strong case management skills, and experience in eviction prevention and housing stabilization. The position reports to the Financial Empowerment Center Program Manager and directly supervises interns and volunteers. It indirectly reports to the Site Director. The position has a hybrid work environment, combining virtual and in-office days. Some days are fully remote, certain days require attendance at the main office, and occasional work may take place at a partner’s office. The current hybrid schedule may change. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required as program needs dictate. The position is expected to end on November 15, 2027.
